Charity: Opération Nez Rouge

Operation Red Nose

Region 1 President, Renée Delisle, has selected the charity Opération Nez Rouge (Operation Red Nose), as the charity to support at the 2024 Region 1 Conference. Created in 1984, Operation Red Nose’s safe ride service is available during the month of December to more than 100 communities across Canada. Canadian residents residing in the communities supported by Operation Red Nose, simply call a team of volunteers to drive you safely home.

We encourage you to donate to Operation Red Nose while at the Region 1 Conference. Should you choose to make a donation, you will contribute to the financial support of a non-profit organization contributing to road safety in Canada.

There will be two fundraising activities to support Operation Red Nose. The first will be “Operation Guess the Number of Nez Rouge!” which is a simple “guess the number of red noses”. To see the container of red noses and submit your guesses, please stop by the registration area on Tuesday or Wednesday during registration hours. You can submit one guess for $5 or three guesses for $10. The chance to purchase and enter your guesses will end promptly at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, and winners will be announced in the Mobile App on Thursday. The top three closest guesses will win a prize, and you must be present on Thursday to claim your prize or the next closest guess will be awarded.

The second fund raising event will be a maple syrup tasting contest at the Night of Networking. Taste both maple syrups from Québec and Vermont (next years’ Region 1 Conference location) and vote on your favorite! While there is no fee to participate, donations to the charity are encouraged and welcomed.
