On Sunday, July 28, 2024, Delaware joined South Dakota and Louisiana as the third jurisdiction to successfully migrate from Verizon’s Managed Services to AAMVA’s new Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) solution managed by AT&T/Fujitsu. The transition to SD-WAN is a key objective of the AAMVAnet Modernization initiative and represents a significant milestone in AAMVA’s journey to enhance network efficiency, reliability, and performance. The new solution improves redundancy and reliability by replacing the single CISCO Edge router with two Aruba SD-WAN appliances in a high-availability configuration. It also allows jurisdictions to diversify the type of circuits and network providers to remove the current single-vendor dependency. We encourage all jurisdictions with any further inquiries or that are interested in accelerating their migration schedules to contact us.
