Cathie Curtis began serving as Deputy Secretary of State, for the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) in the Spring of 2021. As the BMV chief administrator she is responsible for leading the organization’s driver, vehicle, enforcement, and adjudication programs. This is the second time she has held this position. She was previously employed by the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles for 32 years serving in various management positions and also as Deputy Secretary of State.
Cathie was employed for 9 years with the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) from 2012 through 2021 as the Director of Vehicle Programs. She was responsible for supporting the AAMVA community by managing several projects, working groups and committees related to emerging vehicle issues.
