Kelli Penney is the Registrar of Motor Vehicles in Newfoundland and Labrador. She is a graduate of Memorial University and has worked in front-line public service in Newfoundland and Labrador for over 25 years. Having worked for federal, municipal, and provincial governments throughout her career, Kelli has been responsible for a variety of interesting portfolios, however, she will tell you that the highlight of her work with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has been the opportunities to travel to some of the most rural and remote communities throughout the province and engage with many wonderful people along the way. Kelli served on the former Newfoundland and Labrador Assistive and Adaptive Technology Advisory Committee supporting persons with disabilities; she served on the Board of Directors of the Canada Safety Council until 2022; is an active member of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) Region 1; and Kelli has been the member for Newfoundland and Labrador on the Board of the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) since 2018. Kelli grew up in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador where she currently resides with her husband James and their two children.
