Cian Cashin serves as AAMVA's Vice President of Government Affairs. Mr. Cashin has navigated the association through multiple issue areas including the implementation of federal and state transportation policy, immigration law, identification practices, innovative technology implementation, privacy protections, and the development and deployment of national public safety systems and information technology architecture. Mr. Cashin began working for AAMVA in the Public and Legislative Affairs department in 1997. He has since gained almost two decades of experience advocating for transportation policy improvements at the national level by communicating state interests to the federal government, safety partners, and the United States Congress. He holds degrees in microbiology/pre-medicine from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and both English and public policy and management from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia.
