Patrick Fernan joined AAMVA as the Director of Driver Licensing Programs in 2022. Prior to that, he worked for 30 years in the public sector. Patrick was an attorney with the circuit courts and Wisconsin State Patrol, briefly served as the Midwest Regional Director for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and spent 17 years with the Wisconsin Department of Motor Vehicles where he served as Administrator, Deputy Administrator and Director of Driver and Field Services. Patrick has a law degree and masters degree in public policy from the University of Wisconsin.​​​​​
