Tim Roufa began his life in public service in 1999, working in the Florida House of Representatives Bill Drafting Services Office. In 2001, he joined the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles as State Trooper, where he served for more than 22 years.
During his time with FHP, Tim volunteered as a research mentor to up-and-coming law enforcement leaders and served on Florida’s Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information Systems Council; the State Law Enforcement Chiefs Association Technology Committee Chair; and AAMVA’s Card Design and Joint mDL subcommittees. In 2021 Tim was appointed to the rank of Chief over the Administration and Technology Command, from which he retired to join the AAMVA Identity Management team.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from The Florida State University and is a graduate of the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute’s Senior Leadership Program and Executive Leadership Seminar, and of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations program.
