Trooper Kevin Ramirez-Vasquez succumbed to injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle on September 17, 2024, while investigating a collision. Trooper Ramirez-Vasquez and a deputy sheriff suffered serious injuries as a result of the collision. Trooper Ramirez-Vasquez was transported to Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX, where he succumbed to his injuries on September 28, 2024. Trooper Ramirez-Vasquez was a U.S. Army veteran and had served with the Texas Highway Patrol for one year.
