A policy may be submitted for vote by direct electronic means if expedited membership action is required between meetings or the traditional process is untenable. In this instance: The policy will be routed to designated voting representatives in each of the AAMVA member jurisdictions “in good standing”. The policy will be given 30 days, whereby a simple majority shall be considered sufficient to pass the policy. Ballots not returned or transmitted within 30 days shall not be counted in the vote tally. Upon jurisdiction approval, policies receiving a simple majority by jurisdiction vote are presented to the AAMVA Board of Directors for final consideration. If the Board of Directors approves the policy by simple majority, the policy is then published in the AAMVA Policy Positions.
