AAMVA is saddened to announce that longtime friend of AAMVA, Patricia Buyse Adduci, passed away on November 29, 2023. She became the first female City Clerk of Rochester, NY in 1974. She was elected and became the first female County Clerk of Monroe County, NY in 1981. She was appointed by Governor Mario Cuomo to become the first female New York State Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in 1985. As an executive, she always dared to change and innovate systems to find greater efficiencies and better serve the public. She served as President of the AAMVA Region 1 Board of Directors from 1987-1988, and was also Chair of the International Board of Directors from 1990-1991.
