District of Columbia will begin using AAMVA’s State-to-State (S2S) Verification Service and S2S Driver History Record (DHR) on Monday, September 30, 2024. Tasks related to on-boarding District of Columbia will be conducted during the weekend of September 28, 2024. During this process (Saturday evening to Monday morning), there may be periods during which the CDLIS/S2S Central Site is in inquiry-only mode or is unavailable (over and above the regularly scheduled maintenance window of 2:00 AM ET to 5:00 AM ET on Sunday, September 29, 2024). AAMVA is taking all steps possible to minimize service interruptions and will be sending alerts notifying states of Central Site availability throughout the process.
Dear CDLIS and State-to-State (S2S) Participants:
District of Columbia (DC) will be the next state to adopt State-to-State Verification Service (S2S) and S2S Driver History Record (DHR) following its implementation during the weekend of September 28, 2024. Please be aware that regular CDLIS/S2S Central Site availability between the evening of Saturday, September 28, 2024, and early morning of Monday, September 30, 2024 will be affected. More specifically, there may be periods during which the Central Site is in inquiry-only mode, and there may be periods during which the Central Site is unavailable (over and above the regularly scheduled maintenance window of 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM ET on Sunday). Exact details will be shared as soon as they are available.
The Central Site should be fully operational again on Monday, September 30, 2024, 5:00 AM ET. All other systems will be up and running during their usual available hours.
Status and History requests between states should be unaffected by the work at the Central Site, except for inquiries directed to DC. Information about DC’s availability will be shared in future communications.
Please refer to the Implementation Calendar available under State-to-State (S2S) Verification Service in AAMVA.ORG for the list of states joining S2S program and/or S2S DHR in the upcoming months.
Please note that states are encouraged to avoid these weekends for performing maintenance or deployment activities that require the Central Site to be available. Please contact AAMVA if such activities are unavoidable.
If you have any questions, please contact us.
