AAMVA’s Card Design Standard (CDS) and Digital Identity Subcommittees (DIS) met last week in New Orleans, LA, for a productive week of collaboration. The meeting began with a joint session, where members shared updates on their respective initiatives and discussed areas of overlap. The Digital Identity Subcommittee advanced updates to AAMVA’s Mobile Driver License (mDL) Implementation Guidelines, Procurement Guidance, and Model Legislation, including enhancements to the privacy section and other editorial revisions. The CDS Subcommittee reviewed new content and feedback from volunteer group assignments related to post-design considerations, as well as ongoing agency education and program monitoring for the updated design document. The week concluded with a session alongside technical advisors, where members discussed complex topics such as document and security feature lifecycles that require additional expertise.
