On Wednesday, April 9, AAMVA Identity Management Programs and Services team member Tim Roufa spoke before the Texas House of Representatives' Committee on Homeland Security, Public Safety and Veterans' Affairs to provide information in ISO/IEC 18013-5 compliant digital identity credentials. During a hearing on Texas HB 3426, which would authorize Texas to issue ISO-complaint mDLs, AAMVA testified before the committee to highlight how mDLs represent an improvement over the physical credential. AAMVA also emphasized that mDLs are safe, secure, and privacy-respecting while at the same time supporting interoperability and convenience.
