AAMVA Attends Austroads IVC24 Identity Summit

An AAMVA delegation consisting of Eric Jorgensen, Director of the Arizona Motor Vehicle Division and Chair of AAMVA's International Board of Directors; Chris Caras, Director of the Utah Driver License Division; Negash Assefa, CIO for the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration; Ian Grossman, AAMVA's President and CEO; Mike McCaskill, AAMVA's Vice President of Identity Management Programs and Systems; Loffie Jordan, AAMVA's Business Solutions Architect; and Tim Roufa, AAMVA's Manager of Identity Management, participated in the Austroads IVC24 Identity Summit from October 3–4 in Sydney, Australia. The summit brought together North America, Australia, Japan, and countries from Europe as well as industry partners to discuss the global expansion of mDL. Topics included international acceptance and interoperability and mutual respect and trust between countries. The summit was highlighted by a demonstration of international interoperability between U.S. states, Australian states, and European countries, whereby mDLs from each were authenticated by readers from the U.S. and Australia and the TSA CAT2 mDL reader.
