CONCURRENT SESSIONS

Auto Theft and Title Fraud at Auto Dealerships

Criminals are using different forms of fraud to steal vehicles from car dealerships. This session will show how document fraud, identity theft, and synthetic identity are used during the auto dealership financing process to steal vehicles that not only victimize dealerships but create challenges for motor vehicle administrators who must correct the fraudulently obtained titles.

The Road to Reciprocity

Motor vehicle administrators face various challenges to ensure driver records that have had action(s) taken on the driving privilege in a state other than their state of record are effectively communicated and restrictions maintained when appropriate. This session will discuss ACD codes for CDLIS and non-commercial reporting and restrictions relating to ignition interlock device (IID) and intelligent speed reciprocity requirements.

Advancing Electronic Vehicle Titling

This session will provide an update on AAMVA's electronic titling and vehicle record management initiative. It will include an update on the proof of concept for interstate vehicle record exchange, as well as an overview of AAMVA’s electronic vehicle titling toolkits and resources designed to assist motor vehicle agencies in researching and planning their transition to fully electronic vehicle titling. Additionally, the session will cover AAMVA's efforts to assess the current status of jurisdictions in their move towards electronic vehicle titling and vehicle records management. Finally, the session will offer insights into AAMVA's next steps and plans for this initiative in the upcoming year.

Improving the Customer Experience Through Marketing and Social Media Trends

In today’s digital age, customer expectations are evolving. This session dives into how departments of motor vehicles are transforming the customer experience by embracing modern marketing strategies and staying ahead of social media trends. Learn how DMVs are using social media in a targeted way to build trust, reduce confusion, and improve service delivery. We'll highlight successful case studies, explore tools for measuring engagement, and discuss how to handle crisis communication and misinformation in the digital sphere.
