From Online Fraud to Fake Titling Documents: Combatting Fraud Trends

Title washing has been a persistent issue for motor vehicle administrators (MVAs), and the emergence of fraudulent Manufacturer Certificates of Origin (MCO) has added to the complexity of identifying counterfeits. Attendees will hear about the current fraud trends identified by MVA investigators during AAMVA’s monthly fraud awareness calls and how some jurisdictions are addressing them. You will also be provided with an overview of the recently published AAMVA white paper titled, Preventing, Detecting and Investigating Cyber-Digital Fraud.

Where is Your Jurisdiction at With Electronic Vehicle Titling?

Electronic vehicle titling is here to stay and it includes multiple elements, processes, and stakeholders. Motor vehicle agencies can greatly benefit from electronic titling through various options, including electronic liens, digital transfer of physical title information, and online vehicle ownership transfers. This session will take a deep dive into AAMVA’s electronic titling toolkit and scorecard to equip jurisdictions with valuable resources in planning and prioritizing electronic titling projects. Attendees will also get an update on AAMVA’s work for interoperable interstate transfers of vehicle ownership and learn about participating in the next steps for proof of concepts and pilot projects.

Ignition Interlocks and the Reciprocity Challenge

Join us as we explore the challenges MVAs and DMVs face with ignition interlock reciprocity. We will hear updates from member jurisdictions that have developed processes and policies to overcome these challenges. Also learn what steps AAMVA is taking toward a universal solution to this challenge.

Come join us and take home some useful resources that your jurisdiction can utilize in reducing the number of fatal motorcycle crashes.

Are You Ready for Road Use Charging?

Do DMVs hold the key to supporting safe roads and other infrastructure? As revenue from fuel taxes dwindle, jurisdictions are looking for new ways to fund infrastructure maintenance and construction. Hear from jurisdictions that have worked on these creative programs and learn what supportive roles their DMVs played.

Weaving the mDL Web

Oh, what a trusted web we’ve weaved, in helping mDL succeed... the mDL ecosystem consists of a complex and interconnected network of standards, solutions and stakeholders. Join us to learn about the new ISO/IEC specification, and changes to the mDL Implementation Guidelines that allow for mDL use over the internet.
